How a New AI App is Helping Us Time Travel

How a New AI App is Helping Us Time Travel

Imagine seeing what you would look like if you were alive during ancient Greece or were reborn as a nineteenth-century Arctic explorer. It sounds like something out of a science fiction movie, but it's now possible with a new app called AI Time Machine. This app is taking the internet by storm, allowing anybody to generate pixel-perfect renditions of their faces in the style of different historical periods.

"Using AI Time Machine, you can see yourself as an Egyptian pharaoh, a medieval knight, a 19th-century lord or lady, an astronaut, and much more, in just a few clicks," the company writes on its website. The delightful app requires you to upload between ten and 25 photos of yourself, ranging from full-body to close-up shots. The more variety in the photos, the better the results.

How AI Time Machine Works

AI Time Machine uses a machine learning algorithm to interpret the uploaded photos and render them in the style of different historical periods. The app is still in its early stages, so there are some limits to what it can do. For example, it can't yet generate Renditions of people of color in every era because there isn't enough data for the algorithm to work with. However, MyHeritage hopes to expand the app's capabilities as more people use it and upload photos.

What's also impressive about AI Time Machine is that it doesn't just apply filters to your photos like other apps. Instead, it completely redraws your features to make them look authentic to the chosen period. For example, if you see yourself as an ancient Egyptian queen, the app will give you a realistic rendering that includes Egypt-specific hairstyles and jewelry.

Conclusion:

AI Time Machine is a fun and intriguing new app that allows users to time travel without leaving their homes. If you're interested in seeing what you would look like in another period, you only need a few photos and a sense of curiosity. So why not give it a try? Who knows—you might find yourself transported back in time.
