Sadly, many organisations will fall, but there will be a saving grace. At the same time, many more online platforms are going to empower more and more people to earn a living without needing a company or government to take care of them. I’m fundamentally optimistic that some of these platforms are going to end up transferring jobs and revenue from the big institutions to millions of people all over the world instead, providing a decent direct income.

Almost all of us are going to have access to powerful online platforms that will lift and amplify our creative and social capabilities. I believe that a creative revolution far beyond anything we can currently imagine is going to be unleashed. I’m confident that we are going to see even bigger and exponentially more powerful platforms. These platforms are going to enable ordinary people to do some extraordinary things. If you have a good idea you already can use today's crowdfunding platform like Kickstarter to fund it, or you can use the inventor platform Quirky to get expert help to design and produce a product, even when you don’t have the skills yourself. There are video bloggers that have their own TV channel on YouTube and earn millions of dollars by posting content. These are all examples of opportunities that weren’t even imaginable to the mass market just a decade ago.
More of these opportunities will emerge and more people will be able to chase their purpose. Exponential technology will empower the masses, everybody can be an inventor, vlogger, designer, engineer or movie director. I’m far from being the only person to believe that a world of meaningful work is the way that we are headed. Back in 2015, Ray Kurzweil, the inventor, author, futurologist, and a founding trustee of Singularity University, stated: ‘I’m actually not worried about it [the demise of 9-5 employment] because it’s going to ultimately be very easy and require a very small fraction of our output to support all the material needs of the human race. I agree, and the move towards a world of meaningful work and a life of purpose for more and more of us is the core message of optimism that I wanted to share.
Christian is a futurist who speaks about the impact of exponential technology on people and organizations. He tailors his presentations to the specific industries and the needs of your audience.
Our world is changing at an exponential rate! A big tidal wave of digital transformation and disruption is coming at us fast. Many organizations see this wave as a threat and experience stress, but there are also organizations that just see this wave as an opportunity.
Organizations will need to be more fluid, dynamic, and adaptable: the ability to change and adjust in response to new situations and environments. We are on the cusp of a new era of organizations, ones that are more fluid and agile and which behave like swarms we see in nature.
In the future, 3D printing and generative design will allow for products to be designed in a more decentralized manner, and production will take place closer to the customer and fully on-demand. 3D printing technology will also allow for more customization and personalization of products.
The agricultural industry is ripe for disruption. Robotics, AI, and IoT are all technologies that have the potential to radically transform the way we grow food. In combination with vertical farming, these technologies could increase the efficiency and quality of agricultural products.
A human-centered society is one that puts people first and where technology is used to unite and empower people. It is a society that values biological life and dignity above all else. It is a society that recognizes the importance of human relationships and works to strengthen them. In a human-centered society, all members of the community are valued and treated with respect.
It's hard to believe, but the way we experience and buy products is changing. With the advent of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (Ai) and augmented reality (AR) and 3D printing, eCommerce and traditional retail are merging into one single experience.
The future of healthcare is here. New technologies like AI, IoT, big data, and smart sensors make it possible to become the CEO of your own health. Imagine that your phone can listen to your voice and AI algorithms can detect small nuances in the tone of your voice that indicate specific diseases.
